What is Fusion CPL?

Fusion CPL was established in 2003 as a partnership between FAS, Ballyfermot Drugs Task Force, Health Service Executive, Dept. of Justice and the voluntary sector.
Its main aim is to link recovery from drug use with training and employment.

Goals of Fusion

  • To ensure the service is known in community and is accessible.
  • That service users show positive changes and improvements as per their care plan.
  • That the service provided is appropriate and fair and in turn provides service user satisfaction.
  • That placements provided are relevant to the needs/interests of the service users.
  • Greater acceptability of drug users and greater recognition and respect for their rights.
  • Service users benefit from excellent networks and good collaboration.
  • To support service users recovery
  • To encourage service users into education, training and employment.

Community Prison Link (CPL) Service Goals

  • To work with service users in a holistic and respectful way throughout the last part of your sentence and on their release.
  • To encourage service users to manage their sentence in a productive way.
  • To ensure that service users are aware of the supports available to them within the prison system, such as counselling and education.
  • To work with service users to ensure that upon their release they have somewhere to go, something to do and support around their recovery.
  • To offer support to the service users family if required.
